Are you ready for an experience of a lifetime? Are you ready to challenge yourself? Are you ready to see the hidden side of China?
Spartan Challenge is a unique reward program. You will experience joy, excitement, despair, you will be physically, intellectually and emotionally challenged, you will grow! Our team of staff have come up with a unique program, that allows you to the maximum challenge with minimum risks!
Expect to learn a variety of outdoor skills which include: navigation, map reading, outdoor survival, rock climbing, abseiling, outdoor cooking and much more. You will also attend a two day drama camp conducted by Dr. Chan Choi Lai, where you will work as a team to develop a script and learn basic drama techniques. You will have a chance to put a show in the ethnic minority village of Shaxi and Liming in Yunnan.

The Spartan challenge is a 14 day expedition to Yunnan, South West China. Lucky participants will enjoy a plethora of challenges ranging from Rock Climbing and Abseiling to teaching a drama class to a group of local village children.
The event is 3 phase:
- A 4 day camping and trekking expedition climbing to over 3000m in the foot hills of the Himalayas.
- A community service phase, working in the Picturesque village of Shaxi half way between Lijiang and Dali.
- In the 3rd phase, we will be going to visit a small village called Liming high in sandstone valley. Here we will go rock climbing and abseiling, and take music lessons with the local Lisu tribe.
To participate in the challenge please fill in the below online application. Successful candidates will then be asked to create a short story, video, audio recording. Lasting only 2 min to describe why they're interested in taking part in the Spartan Challenge. There will only be 20 places.
SC's uniqueness lies in our underlying research component, where we employ cutting edge educational tools to effect a paradigm shift in our students. All participants are expected to commit one year of their time after the program to share their experiences with others. Central to our philosophy is to pay it forward, when life gives throws you a gift, you pass it on to the less fortunate.

Lamma Island selection is an all day event on Sunday the 7th of July 2013.
Expedition Dates 18th - 31st of August 2013.
